Dear families,

Jacob’s Cure is considering doing a Research Summit/Family Conference sometime in 2011, and we just wanted to put out feelers to see who would be willing to travel to the New York area to attend. If you think you would be interested in meeting other families and the researchers leading the way in developing new treatments for Canavan disease, please let us know. If you would be interested in coming but might need financial assistance, please let us know that as well.  (We are not sure what financial assistance will be available, if any, but knowing how many people would need it will help us plan better.) We would love to have you all join us! Feel free to pass this on to any families I may have missed.

I would really appreciate if I could be accepted to the list of those who are financed for attending to the conference because the families in Turkey are getting those kind of information through the net if they know English. Or the families with canavan children in Turkey are asking me of help for treatment, diagnosis, doctors etc. I would really appreciate....

I will definitely let you know when we have information about what financial help will be available.  It would be great if you could come!  Are there a lot of Canavan families in Turkey?  Just curious.

Yess, there are lots of families that I know them through my neurologist. Some of them succeeded to get in touch with me by e-mail even they do not know English but asked a friend to search a Canavan Child in Turkey in the web. And they catched me from this site. That is why we are trying to prepare a web site for my son Sarp and let the families know about the disease so that they can find an information source in Turkish.
